Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) seeks a full-time Medical Office Assistant in Carbondale, IL to work with physicians and the care team in an ambulatory office setting. You will document patient information in the EMR and support medication storage and expiration tracking.

The role requires a high school diploma, current BLS (AHA preferred), and CN A certification preferred. About 1 year of clinical office experience and ability to take manual blood pressure are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification; BLS from American Heart Association preferred.
• Certified Nurses Aid certification preferred.
• 1 year of clinical office experience preferred.
• Ability to perform manual blood pressure required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and care team to deliver appropriate treatment in an ambulatory setting.
• Greet patients, document required clinical information in the EMR following policy.
• Document and update patient information with accurate and complete records.
• Monitor expiration dates and storage conditions of medications and supplies.
