Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a dedicated medical assistant to support physicians and caregivers in an ambulatory office setting. You will assist with patient intake, vital signs including manual blood pressure, and accurate EMR documentation in accordance with policy.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, current BLS certification (AHA preferred), and certification for Medical Assisting (NCCT, AAMA, NHA or NAHP preferred). Prior clinical office experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification; AHA preferred.
• Medical Assisting certification preferred (NCCT, AAMA, NHA or NAHP).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and caregivers to deliver appropriate treatment.
• Document patient care and procedures accurately in the EMR.
• Onboard and educate new nursing staff within the dept.
• Assist in care navigation through treatment plans and resources.
• Monitor medications and supplies per office procedures.
