Job summary

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, in Knoxville, TN, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time Night Shift role requires 72 hours per pay period and involves delivering professional nursing care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting patient education.

Minimum experience includes new graduates within the first year of orientation; Tennessee RN license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.
• Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis. Evaluates care outcomes.

• Introduces new employees/students to unit routines.
• Participates on unit-based committees.
• Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills (checklist) to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
