Job summary

University Centers at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking a Lead Climbing Wall Attendant who will oversee operations, provide training, and ensure safety on the Climbing Wall. The role supports campus and community programs and reports to the Climbing Wall Student Manager and Recreation Programs Manager.

Requires CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 8 weeks, climbing gear experience, and availability of at least 8 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• At least one semester of experience as a Climbing Wall Attendant.
• Available to work at least 8 hours per week during the semester.
• Experience with climbing gear and safety procedures.
• Must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid within 8 weeks of starting employment.
• Concussion Protocol Training provided within same timeframe.
• Preferred: at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.
• Enrolled part-time (6 undergrad or 5 grad credits) and in good academic standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent assistance and training while facilitating general operations of the Climbing Wall.
• Educate patrons about and ensure compliance with Climbing Wall policies and procedures.
• Provide climbing classes for campus and community.
• Receive and channel student input, concerns, and complaints to appropriate areas.
• Monitor the safety of patrons.
