Job summary

Minneapolis Bouldering Project, LLC is hiring routesetters to bring our climb experience to life. You’ll set and forerun boulder problems, work with a team to refine techniques, and help maintain walls and equipment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and inclusivity, with opportunities for growth and occasional travel for events across locations. This is a part-time, hourly position based in Saint Paul, MN.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of climbing experience.
• 2+ years of commercial gym setting experience.
• Ability to climb V6 in a variety of styles.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and feedback skills.
• Passion for climbing and building inclusive communities.
• Ability to move 50 lbs on soft flooring and work on ladders or at height.

Responsibilities

• Set and forerun 3–6 boulder problems per setting day.
• Contribute to team forerunning and collaborative setting sessions.
• Support wall maintenance and refinishing tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized setting space and tools.
• Execute tasks from the Head Setter and maintain professional relationships.
• Interact with guests and represent BP in the community.
• Collect and apply community feedback to improve the climbing product.
• Uphold quality, safety, and inclusivity in design and execution.
• Demonstrate BP’s People Guiding Principles.
• Participate in community engagement through events and interactions.
• Assist in hold and equipment care, including cleaning and inspection.
• Travel occasionally to support events at other locations.
