Job summary

Ubergrippen Indoor Climbing Denver is seeking a part-time part-time hourly Routesetting Apprentice to join our setting team at the Denver and Castle Rock locations. The role is entry level with no prior commercial routesetting experience and offers a fixed weekly schedule until further notice.

Responsibilities include learning rigging and safety practices, setting 2–3 routes per shift, daily setter duties, forerunning feedback, and wall maintenance, with opportunities to grow into a professional

Qualifications

• Entry level role with no prior commercial routesetting experience.
• Must be passionate about climbing and learning.
• Willing to work the indicated schedule across Denver and Castle Rock locations.

Responsibilities

• Gain mastery of rigging and safety equipment to UG standards for setting on ropes and boulders.
• Set 2–3 routes per shift (4–8 boulders) across a range of grades as directed by the Head Route Setter.
• Perform daily setter duties including stripping, hold wash, setup/cleanup of equipment, and organizing gear.
• Participate in daily forerunning and provide feedback on variables like climber size and difficulty.
• Perform wall maintenance (repairs, T-nut checks, rope checks, Auto Belay inspections and installation).
• Maintain adherence to UG safety practices and PPE.
