Job summary

First Ascent Climbing & Fitness in Arlington Heights is seeking a proactive Program Manager to lead our class and event programming. You will partner with the gym and hospitality managers to drive daily operations and member experience, while helping grow the climbing community.

This full-time salaried role includes managing staff, developing events, and ensuring a welcoming culture. Strong communication, organization, and love of climbing are essential; you’ll report to the Arlington Heights

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organizational abilities required.
• Proven problem-solving and customer-service orientation.
• Solid computer skills and familiarity with standard office software.
• Friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and adaptability.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of climbing equipment and proper belay technique.
• Experience with MS Office and office systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage First Ascent programming, including groups and events.
• Assist gym leadership with hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Foster a welcoming community atmosphere for members and guests.
• Collaborate with gym leadership to create events for the client base.
• Oversee facility cleanliness with leadership and vendors.
