Job summary

YMCA of Central Maryland seeks a Rock Wall Instructor to lead and instruct rock climbing classes in a welcoming YMCA setting. You will ensure safety, provide information to participants, and uphold core values while delivering engaging sessions.

Responsibilities include leading classes, responding to emergencies, and maintaining equipment and facility safety. Training and certifications required within specified timeframes support this mission.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety rules for the program area.
• Belay training within 30 days of hire; rock climbing/belay experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a class independently and address safety/emergency situations.
• Motivate and educate members; ensure engaging, positive instruction.
• Set up, move and store class equipment as required for activities.
• Maintain clear communication to participants and foster good relationships with families.
