Job summary

Sportrock is seeking an Events and Programs Coordinator to lead leadership and gym development in our Virginia/Lorton location. The role focuses on growing events, programs, and community engagement for climbers of all levels, with responsibilities spanning staffing, scheduling, and cross-location coordination.

You will work closely with gym leadership to drive attendance, oversee events, and foster a welcoming climbing community while upholding safety and policies.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years leadership/management experience preferred.
• Customer service experience.
• Effective time management skills.
• Rock climbing experience or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Organize quarterly large community events (>300 participants).
• Organize monthly smaller events (≥50 participants).
• Coordinate weekly micro-activations (5–20+ participants).
• Schedule and oversee non-youth programs in the gym (e.g., classes).
• Organize monthly 1:1s with adult programs instructors.
• Coordinate with marketing for high attendance at events.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training of staff.
