The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist for on-site tree care in South Londonderry, VT. The role focuses on trimming, pruning and removing trees to protect health and safety while delivering high-quality service outdoors.

You will climb, operate equipment, and collaborate with a crew to safely complete tasks. Strong outdoor affinity, climbing experience, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Previous tree climbing experience is required.
• Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete orientation and safety courses upon hire.
• Carrying out first aid, CPR and defensive driving training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader to complete tasks.
• Prune and remove trees safely and skillfully for clients.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection where needed.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain all tools and equipment.

Position Overview

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Required: Valid Driver's license
• Required: Previous Tree Climbing experience
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
