Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist Trainee in Eden Prairie, MN. You will join a tree crew, progressively learning climbing and pruning techniques to support health and safety of trees and landscapes.

Responsibilities include pruning, removal, and learning to install support systems, with training provided. Benefits include PTO, advancement opportunities, a 401(k) plan, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and physical work.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide-related licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees and limbs to improve health and safety.
• Learn to climb trees and operate as part of a tree crew.
• Perform pruning, removal, and related tree care tasks following safety guidelines.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems when needed.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws and chippers.
