Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist Trainee in Eden Prairie, MN. You will learn to climb trees, prune, remove deadwood, and assist in installing support systems while working as part of a tree crew.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work appeals to you and you enjoy physical tasks.
• Willingness to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program and safety trainings.
• Pesticide licenses and related certifications are preferred where state law requires.
• Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and perform pruning and removal under supervision.
• Support tree crew operations and progressively learn new skills.
• Perform pruning, thinning and deadwood removal per industry guidelines.
• Assist with installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Help remove hazardous trees and maintain tools and equipment safely.
