The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist Trainee in Eden Prairie, MN. You will join a tree care crew to learn pruning and removal techniques and progress toward more advanced skills. Training includes safety, equipment use, and industry standards.

Starting pay ranges from $22 to $28 per hour, based on experience. The role offers benefits, career development, and opportunities in a nationwide employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certifications preferred where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Trim and prune trees and remove limbs to maintain health and safety.
• Climb as part of a tree crew and learn new skills.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems as learned.
• Assist in hazardous tree removal and maintenance of tools and equipment.
