Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a climbing arborist trainee in Boise, ID. You’ll be outdoors with a tree crew, focusing on learning tree climbing, pruning, and removal techniques while gaining hands-on experience and safety training.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and participate as a tree crew member.
• Learn to perform pruning and removal work safely and skillfully.
• Identify trees and follow pruning guidelines; prune, thin, and remove deadwood.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removing hazardous trees and maintain tools and equipment.
