Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Wheeling, IL is seeking a climbing arborist to trim and remove trees, prune, install cables and manage safety on job sites. Your office is outdoors and you’ll work with a crew to deliver high-quality tree care services for clients.

Qualifications

• Outdoor enthusiasm and willingness to work outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Able to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Able to complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates preferred if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees with Davey climbing systems and work with ground crew.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related gear.
