Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist for our Portland, OR team. The role is outdoor and your office is the field, focusing on tree trimming, pruning and removal with a strong emphasis on safety and client service.

You will work with experienced crews, utilizing DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems, and you’ll receive industry-leading training and benefits. This permanent, full-time position offers growth, paid time off, health plan and 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and ability to work at heights.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping preferred.
• Complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Pesticide licenses preferred if state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal work safely and skillfully for clients.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection; remove hazardous trees.
