Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join our team in Gorham, ME. Office is outdoors and daily work involves pruning and removing trees to protect health and safety.

You will climb, cut, and service trees using advanced climbing systems, with a crew-based environment that emphasizes safety and client service. Responsibilities include pruning, removal, cable and lightning protection installations, and operating equipment such as chainsaws and aerial lifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Previous tree climbing experience is required.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems as part of the crew.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader to perform pruning and removal safely.
• Perform pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems as needed.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain all tools and equipment including chainsaws and lifts.
