Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join our outdoor team in Gaithersburg, MD. You will climb trees, prune and remove branches, and work closely with the crew to deliver safe, high-quality tree care services.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
