Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Gorham, ME is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join its outdoor team. You will work on-site, prune and remove trees, climb using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, and support your crew with safety-focused pruning and removal services.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Required: Valid Driver's license.
• Required: Previous Tree Climbing experience.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using Davey climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
