The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist in Glen Burnie, MD. You will perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal with DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems in an outdoor, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire and the Davey first aid/CPR course.
• Preferred pesticide licenses and certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning, removal, and safe tree maintenance for clients.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws and lifts.
• Coordinate with ground crew and foreman during jobs.
• Ensure safety and quality while delivering unrivaled client service.

Position Overview

Climbing Arborist

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees

or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Climbing Arborist to our passionate team of landscape professionals.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts

and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
