Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Climbing Arborist for an on-site, outdoor role. You will prune and remove trees, use advanced climbing systems, and work with a crew to deliver safe, high-quality tree care for clients.

Qualifications

• Forestry, horticulture, landscaping background preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal services safely.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground crew and foreman.
• Use climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS) to access canopies.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure job site safety.

Sign on Bonus!!!

$1,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANT

Bonus paid in increments to include $500 the first month and $500 each consecutive month

Pay range $28-$32/hr depending on experience

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts

and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
