Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our field team. You will be responsible for trimming, pruning, and removing trees, using professional climbing systems to access canopies, while ensuring safety and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping or working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Prune and remove branches, limbs and trees safely for clients.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
• Work with ground crew and foreman to complete services efficiently.

Position Overview

Pay range $26.-$42/ hour

$2,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANT

Bonus paid in increments to include $500 the first month and $500 each consecutive month

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
