The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to join its field team in Colma, CA. This on-site role leads a crew, plans tasks, and delivers arboricultural care for clients with Davey safety standards.

You’ll mentor crew members, operate industry equipment like chainsaws and aerial lifts, and advance through Davey’s Career Development Program. Davey offers comprehensive benefits and a strong employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors.
• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticides licenses and related licenses/certifications.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew to provide arboricultural care at job sites.
• Oversee jobsite hazards, plan, and use equipment safely.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood; install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.

Job Duties

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
