The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a climbing arborist trainee in Naperville, IL. The role involves learning to climb trees, performing pruning and removal tasks, and supporting the team with safety-conscious tree care for clients.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew.
• Progressively learn pruning and removal skills.
• Learn pruning guidelines, deadwood removal, and canopy work.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Assist in hazardous tree removal and equipment maintenance.
• Grow in height and expertise as you gain experience.
