Job summary

Watson Arbor Service seeks a Climbing Arborist Apprentice to learn tree climbing, pruning, and removals using industry techniques and rigging systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable at height and eager to learn advanced aerial care while prioritizing safety and professionalism.

The role offers full-time hours on site, with opportunities for growth and advancement within a safety‑conscious team. A background in arboriculture is helpful but not required, and a valid driver’s license is

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable working at heights of 60' or more.
• Physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
• Able to pass background check and drug test.
• Prior experience in arboriculture or tree climbing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform climbing-based tree care operations, including pruning, removals, and aerial inspections.
• Use proper climbing techniques, ropes, saddles, and safety gear to ascend and work in trees.
• Operate chainsaws, rigging equipment, and other industry tools safely and efficiently.
• Assist with ground operations when necessary, including rigging, chipping, and debris cleanup.
• Inspect trees for disease, structural weaknesses, and potential hazards.
• Communicate with the crew to ensure efficient and safe job completion.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain and inspect climbing gear and equipment regularly.
