Job summary

Arbor Masters, a family-owned tree care company, is seeking a Tree Climber to join our team. You will operate bucket and claw trucks, perform pruning and removal tasks, and participate in rigging operations while maintaining a strong safety focus.

You will engage with homeowners, complete site assessments, and support crew leadership in job setup and cleanup. This is a hands-on field role requiring physical fitness and a positive team attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and possess a class C driver’s license.
• CDL class A or class B license with airbrake endorsement is preferred, but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2-3 year rope and saddle climbing experience including knowledge of knots used in roping and technical rigging.
• Basic knowledge of proper tree pruning and removal techniques.
• Ability to work effectively at heights above 10 feet.
• Outdoor labor-intensive work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain and lift in excess of 50 lbs regularly.
• Experience operating bucket or claw trucks preferred.
• Cabling and bracing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and tools such as bucket trucks, brush trucks, claw trucks, chippers, pole saws, pruning saws, pole pruners, power pole saws and chainsaws.
• Repair, sharpen, and maintain equipment and tools.
• Perform basic felling and rigging, including aerial rigging over obstacles.
• Load all tools, supplies, and materials on the truck and ensure equipment is fueled and inspected.
• Lead job briefings and assist Crew Leader in work zone setup with safety PPE.
• Perform tree risk assessments and site assessments; communicate with homeowners about Arbor Masters services; conduct pre- and post-job walkthroughs.
• Communicate effectively with crew members.
• Assist in debris cleanup at job completion.
