Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist in Glen Burnie, MD. You will primarily work outdoors, climbing trees and performing pruning and removal tasks to maintain tree health and safety for clients.

You’ll use both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems as part of a team, with on-site support from ground crew and foremen, and you’ll be provided with safety gear and training to ensure best practices are followed.

Qualifications

• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees and proper maintenance of tools and equipment.

Climbing Arborist

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts

and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
