Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company seeks a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor team in Chantilly, VA. The role involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees safely, with a strong emphasis on health and safety, equipment operation, and client service.

Position offers a competitive pay range and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants, plus monthly bonuses and advancement opportunities within a large, employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees with Davey climbing systems (DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and crew leader to perform pruning and removal safely.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood; install cables, bracing, and lightning protection as needed.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Position Overview

Pay $24.50-$32.00 depending on experience

$1,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANT

Bonus paidin increments to include $500 the first month and $500 each consecutive month

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
