Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company seeks a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team in Spring Valley, NY. This on-site role involves climbing and pruning trees to maintain health and safety on client properties.

You will use DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems, work with crews, and perform all duties with safety and precision. Permanent, full-time employment with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and physical ability to work outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb as part of a crew and work with ground crew and foreman.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood in tree canopies; install cables and braces as needed.
• Remove hazardous trees and operate tools safely (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Perform daily preparation and operation of equipment and safety gear.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Compensation

$25-$30 Hourly (Based on experience and certifications)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.

Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:

• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
