Job summary

The Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) at the University of Chicago invites applications for the 2027-29 cohort of CSEi Research Fellows, to be appointed at the rank of Research Fellow. We seek outstanding early career scholars interested in any aspect of climate systems engineering.

The University of Chicago offers a two-year fellowship starting in 2027 with a $95K salary per year, plus $10,000 per year for research and travel, and a one-time relocation payment of $4,000.

Qualifications

• PhD required at time of appointment.
• Early career scholars preferred (0-3 years post-PhD).
• Relocation may be required and is taxable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in climate systems engineering.
• Collaborate with UChicago faculty mentors and colleagues.
• Develop independent research projects and publish findings.
