Job summary

The University of Chicago is inviting applications for the 2027-29 cohort of CSEi Research Fellows, to be appointed at the rank of Research Fellow. The program aims to develop the next generation of leaders in climate systems engineering, with mentors and a strong emphasis on collaboration across disciplines.

Selected fellows will work closely with UChicago faculty, have access to $10,000 per year for research and travel, and a relocation stipend of $4,000.

Qualifications

• Completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. or other terminal degree is required at the time of appointment.
• Strong potential for leadership in climate systems engineering.
• Residency in the Chicago area is required.

Responsibilities

• Engage in independent research under faculty mentorship within the CSEi framework.
• Develop research networks and collaborate across disciplines to advance climate systems engineering.
• Pursue funding opportunities and participate in relevant program activities.
