Job summary

The New York Climate Exchange is seeking a creative and hands-on social content producer to translate climate research and partner activity into engaging narratives across platforms. You will help evolve our story and grow our audience.

Based in New York, NY with hybrid work, you will own publishing calendars, collaborate with the communications team, and produce multimedia assets (video, graphics, posts) that amplify our programs and partners.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years creating and managing social and digital content for a mission-driven, high-visibility organization or brand.
• Strong platform-native instincts for Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with a clear sense of what performs.
• Content creation skills: sharp copy, designer briefs, video storyboards, and shooting/editing content.
• Strong editorial judgment: know what stories matter and when to post.
• Ability to translate technical topics into accessible, engaging stories.
• Ability to move fast without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
• Genuine interest in climate, sustainability, and livable cities.
• Cross-functional communication, ambiguity tolerance, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create original short-form video, graphics, carousels, and written content showcasing programs, fellows, partners events, and progress.
• Turn announcements and program launches into timely, high-impact content.
• Own the social content calendar and posting cadence on Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Proactively identify and build relationships with influencers and creators in climate, finance, and urban policy spaces.
• Source and showcase stories from partners, fellows, students, and community members.
• Collaborate with the communications director, events associate, program leads, and partner institutions.
• Contribute to the monthly newsletter, blog, and website content; produce press-ready assets.
• Capture and repurpose content from events; build social listening practices; pitch new ideas.
• Shepherd content through approvals, build scalable workflows, and report learnings.
