Job summary

Earthjustice is seeking two part-time interns for spring 2027 within the Public Affairs & Communications team. The paid internship may be remote within the United States and requires 15–18 hours per week.

Interns will draft press materials, monitor climate-related news, and assist with strategic communications alongside attorneys and policy staff. The role emphasizes structured learning, written communication, and collaboration with coalitions while gaining practical climate and public-interest

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university program as a sophomore, junior, or senior during spring 2027.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and comfort navigating and learning new tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice's values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership.
• Must commit to 15-18 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of communications campaigns.
• Draft materials like press releases, media advisories, reporter pitches, op-eds, and more.
• Track news stories related to climate and energy issues and produce media reports on narrative trends, emerging risks, and opportunities.
• Proactively share insights and briefings on message testing, polling, research, and more.
• Collaborate across Earthjustice's communications department, and work in partnership with coalitions and legal experts.
