Job summary

Earthjustice is seeking a part-time legal intern for spring 2027. This paid remote/hybrid internship invites law students (2L/3L) to gain exposure to nonprofit legal work, including compliance, contracts, and litigation.

Flexible remote options within the United States are available, with possibilities to work from San Francisco or Washington, DC offices. The role emphasizes justice, environmental concern, and collaboration, with a commitment of at least 15 hours per week for 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in law school as a 2L or 3L during spring 2027.
• Excellent writing, research, analytical and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with legal research tools, including Westlaw.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to think creatively.
• Ability to work collegially with others and independently.
• Knowledge of environmental and administrative law is a plus.
• Interest in public interest law and social justice.
• Must commit to at least 15 hours/week for 12 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, the legal intern will get exposure to any and all aspects of our non‑profit work, including compliance, contract review, litigation, etc.
