Job summary

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is seeking a Program Associate for Conservation and Science in California. The role focuses on operations, administration, and grants management to support climate grantmaking.

The position reports to the Program Operations Manager and may start remotely, with onsite work at the foundation offices in Los Altos once reopened. Responsibilities include managing grants from proposal through lifecycle, coordinating meetings and travel, and supporting

Qualifications

• Strong operations, administration, and project coordination skills.
• High accuracy, detail-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration.
• Ability to work with diverse internal/external partners.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work remotely until offices reopen.
• Proficiency with Fluxx, SharePoint, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Grants management and grantee support across the full lifecycle of proposals and information.
• Organize, maintain and update electronic grant files per policies.
• Develop budgets for strategy grants and track expenses for reimbursement.
• Learn climate strategies to inform engagement with grantees; assist in monitoring and learning.
