Job summary

ICF's Energy and Climate Planning Interns contribute to the development of innovative, analytical, high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. Our Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutions within the policy, power, gas, renewable energy, distributed resources and climate planning sectors.

This is a full-time, 10-week internship that begins in early June 2027.

Qualifications

• By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours required in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field.
• U.S. Citizenship required per Federal contracts.
• By start date, acceptance/enrollment verification, or at least 9 credit hours of completed graduate-level courses in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field.
• A completed bachelor's degree.
• Strong interest in energy economics, energy finance, climate, greenhouse gas accounting, operations research, and energy policy analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets.
• Contribute to development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases.
• Evaluate impact of future regulation and support client strategies to manage change.
• Write analysis for major corporate and government clients' deliverables.
• Support development of research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, quantitative analysis and policy summaries.
• Contribute to business development and marketing efforts through market research, data analysis and marketing content.
