Job summary

GreenStone Farm Credit Services in East Lansing, MI is seeking a Client Support Intern to gain hands-on IT customer service experience. This paid internship runs May 2027 through August 2027, based in our East Lansing office, with an hourly rate of $20.

You will work with hardware and software, assist end users, use a ticketing system, and contribute to knowledge bases while collaborating with a supportive team to improve IT efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
• Agriculture background or interest preferred.
• Sophomore status or above in your academic program.
• A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.
• Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Hardware maintenance: repair, test, image, and clean laptops and related hardware.
• Software: install and troubleshoot software and peripherals to address end-user needs.
• Build and maintain customer relationships for IT support and satisfaction.
• Use a ticketing system to prioritize and resolve end-user issues.
• Contribute to the departmental knowledge base to streamline resolutions.
• Provide end-user training to maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities of a Client Support Intern:

• Hardware Maintenance: Repair, test, image, and clean laptops, monitors, printers, and other related hardware to ensure optimal functionality.
• Software Expertise: Install and troubleshoot software and computer peripherals to address end-user needs and concerns.
• Customer Relationship Building: Establish, maintain, and continually improve customer relationships and satisfaction regarding IT customer service and support.
• Ticketing System Utilization: Utilize a ticketing system to prioritize and address end-user issues promptly, ensuring efficient resolution.
• Knowledge Base Contribution: Actively use and contribute to a departmental knowledge base to streamline ticket resolution and support colleagues.
• End-User Training: Instruct end users in the operation and maintenance of systems, empowering them to maximize productivity.
• Additional Projects: Collaborate on any ongoing projects with the team to enhance our IT services and support.

Requirements:

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an IT related field.
• Agriculture background or interest preferred.
• Sophomore status or above in your academic program.
• A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
