Responsibilities:
- Serve as an escalation point for Tier 3 System Administrators.
- Lead troubleshooting and decisive problem resolution for network functions, including switching, routing, telephony, and telecom circuitry, both on-premise and in the cloud.
- Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network issues promptly.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
- Work with clients to interpret, clarify, and implement network change requests.
- Coordinate with vendor/manufacturer technical personnel for unresolved client problems.
- Communicate progress and outages to clients effectively.
- Offer technical assistance, training, and mentorship to team members and end-users.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems with automated escalation procedures.
- Maintain site infrastructure, including network connectivity and internet access.
- Respond to emergency outages following business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor network capacity and performance to optimize communication systems.
- Review operations for process improvement opportunities.
- Establish standards for LAN, WAN, WLAN devices, and connectivity.
- Configure/support physical and virtual network devices, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Deliver operational commitments to customers collaboratively with the team.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in routing, switching, and load balancing.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, BCNE, NSE6, JNCIE, ACDP preferred.
- Expertise with LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and protocols like EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
- Knowledge of network security (NGFW, IPS, IDS, VPNs).
- Cloud networking experience, especially with Azure; AWS and Google preferred.
- Experience in designing and deploying network architectures.
- Proven capacity and performance planning skills.
- Understanding of 802.11 principles and end-user device connectivity.
- Knowledge of QoS, traffic shaping, and 802.1X strategies.
- Ability to analyze and resolve network incidents.
- Experience managing medium to large projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
