Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a Client Service Leader, Industrial to grow and manage key industrial client relationships and drive strategic business development across the Industrial market.

You will work with technical leaders, project managers, and industry partners to identify opportunities, win work, and deliver exceptional client experiences throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in AEC, industrial manufacturing, or related technical consulting.
• Proven success in business development, client relationship management, account growth, and project delivery.
• Experience with industrial clients in sectors such as manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer products, aerospace, defense, logistics, distribution, advanced manufacturing, or industrial processing.
• Established professional network within Middle Tennessee and surrounding industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development and market growth strategies for the Industrial market within assigned regions.
• Build, maintain, and expand relationships with key industrial clients, prospects, industry organizations, and strategic partners.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities aligned with strategic growth objectives and industrial market focus.
• Collaborate with business unit leaders, project managers, and technical professionals to develop client engagement strategies and capture plans.
• Lead client reconnaissance, account planning, pursuit strategy development, and opportunity pipeline management.
• Support workforce planning initiatives by identifying emerging market trends, client needs, and future growth opportunities.
• Develop and execute plans to achieve revenue growth, backlog targets, and profitability goals through successful project pursuits and contract awards.
• Collaborate with Marketing and technical teams to conduct go/no-go evaluations, develop win strategies, and strengthen competitive positioning.
• Lead or support proposal development efforts, interviews, and presentations, including scope, schedule, and fee strategy discussions.
• Represent Barge at industry conferences, trade associations, client events, and community organizations to strengthen brand awareness and market presence.
• Maintain regular communication with project teams and clients to ensure project performance aligns with client expectations and quality standards.
• Facilitate issue resolution and support client satisfaction efforts throughout project delivery.
• Maintain accurate client, opportunity, and relationship information within Barge's CRM system.
• Actively manage business development expenditures and maximize ROI for client development activities.
• May provide office leadership support and assist with local business operations and employee engagement initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

The Client Service Leader, Industrial is responsible for developing and expanding client relationships, driving business growth, and leading strategic business development efforts within Barge's Industrial market. This role serves as the primary relationship manager for key industrial clients and prospects, working collaboratively across business units to identify opportunities, secure new work, and deliver exceptional client experiences.

The Client Service Leader develops and executes market growth strategies aligned with Barge's strategic plan while fostering long-term partnerships with clients in manufacturing, industrial processing, food and beverage, consumer products, advanced manufacturing, logistics, aerospace, defense, and other industrial sectors. This role works closely with technical leaders, project managers, and subject matter experts to position Barge for success throughout the project lifecycle—from opportunity identification and pursuit through project execution and client retention.

Success in this role requires a strong professional network, deep understanding of industrial markets, proven business development experience, and the ability to connect client needs with Barge's multidisciplinary engineering and consulting capabilities.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.


• Minimum of 10 years of experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, industrial manufacturing sector, or related technical consulting environment.


• Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, account growth, and project delivery.


• Experience working with industrial clients in sectors such as manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer products, aerospace, defense, logistics, distribution, advanced manufacturing, or industrial processing.


• Established professional network within Middle Tennessee and surrounding industrial markets.


• Strong communication, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.


• Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to secure and deliver complex projects.
  


• Preferred Qualifications


• Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant professional certification.


• Experience leading strategic client accounts and managing large-scale industrial projects or programs.


• Existing relationships with industrial manufacturers, site selectors, economic development organizations, industry associations, and key decision-makers throughout the region.
