Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 10 years of transportation or water/wastewater industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships and winning work with public-sector clients.
  • Established professional network and credibility within Middle Tennessee.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and lead business development efforts.
  • Experience leading pursuits, developing proposals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates currently serving as Project Managers and SMEs, ready to transition into a client service and business development leadership role are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Refine and execute municipal transportation and water/wastewater market strategy for Middle Tennessee.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with municipal leaders and utility directors.
  • Build and manage a strong project opportunity pipeline and lead pursuits.
  • Collaborate with marketing, technical experts, and pursuit teams on winning strategies and proposals.
  • Serve as primary client contact and maintain clear communication through delivery.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to identify client needs and engage SMEs as appropriate.
  • Represent Barge at client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations.
  • Maintain CRM data and support business development forecasting and reporting.
  • Monitor business development investments and maximize return on investment.

What We're Looking For:

The Client Service Leader is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with public clients while leading business development efforts to grow Barge's market presence throughout Middle Tennessee. This role serves as a trusted advisor to clients, identifies and pursues new opportunities, and collaborates with project managers and technical specialists to secure and successfully deliver projects. The ideal candidate combines business development expertise, strong client-facing communication skills, and technical knowledge of municipal transportation projects or water/wastewater infrastructure to drive growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a strong project opportunity pipeline and lead pursuit activities to secure new work.
  • Collaborate with marketing, technical experts, and pursuit teams to develop winning strategies and proposals.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and maintain strong communication throughout project delivery.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to identify client needs and engage subject matter experts as appropriate.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.

  • Established professional network and credibility within Middle Tennessee.
