Job summary

Holmes Murphy invites you to join our Client Service Internship program for Summer 2027 in Waukee, IA. This 10‑week, onsite internship gives hands‑on exposure to the insurance industry, with rotations through brokerage services and client‑facing activities.

You will assist in relationships, support the sales and services teams, and participate in presentations and community activities while exploring career paths within Holmes Murphy.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or pursuing enrollment at a 4-year institution.
• Prior work experience in customer service or administrative roles preferred.
• Majors interns have pursued include Business Administration, Finance, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Health Promotion, Risk Management & Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing existing client relationships.
• Handle day-to-day service needs.
• Ensure clients receive timely and accurate information.
• Assist sales and services teams with marketing of new and renewal business.
• Prepare materials for presentations and attend client meetings.

What is our Client Service Internship? Our Client Service Interns rotate through our Brokerage Services teams throughout the summer to broaden their perspective of Holmes Murphy and the insurance industry (where available based on geography). Our Client Service Team focuses on client retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Assisting in managing existing client relationships
• Handling day‑to‑day service needs
• Assisting in ensuring clients receive timely and accurate information
• Assisting the sales and services teams with marketing of new and renewal business to include gathering needed information
• Assisting the sales and service teams with preparation & creation of materials for presentations
• Attending client meetings
• Assisting in supporting the sales team by delivering on agreements made during the sales process
• Additional duties as assigned
