Immediate Opportunity - Client Reporting Technical Analyst
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Analyst to support the design, delivery, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Client Reporting technology within a financial services environment.
Location: San Francisco, CA - 4 days onsite/week
Note: This role needs more hands-on SQL/pipeline work, data integrations, and platform experience with Seismic, Vermilion, or Snowflake
What You'll Do
- Own and understand the end-to-end client reporting data flow, from data sourcing and ingestion through transformation, report generation, and distribution.
- Support reporting across institutional, intermediary, and internal stakeholders.
- Work with reporting platforms such as Seismic or Vermilion.
- Manage and troubleshoot production reporting incidents, data anomalies, pipeline failures, and delivery exceptions.
- Analyze data quality issues, identify root causes, and map upstream data dependencies.
- Translate business reporting requirements into technical data and platform specifications.
- Document data lineage, pipeline logic, table/schema structures, metadata, and data dictionaries.
- Support platform upgrades, integrations, UAT, and SDLC activities.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives using platforms such as Ataccama or Collibra.
- Drive reporting enhancements, automation opportunities, and data quality improvements.
- Provide hands‑on ad hoc data analysis supporting client deliverables, regulatory filings, and business initiatives.
Ideal Background
- 3-7 years of experience in financial services.
- Experience within a buy-side / asset management environment strongly preferred.
- Background in client reporting, investment operations, reporting technology, or financial data functions.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, data warehouses, data flows, schemas, and data lineage.
- Hands‑on experience with Seismic and/or Vermilion is highly desirable.
- Exposure to Ataccama, Collibra, data governance, metadata management, and UAT is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑starter comfortable working in a lean, high‑ownership environment.
