Talbots in Southbury, CT is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to drive customer engagement and sales at store level. The role emphasizes relationship-building, trend knowledge, and hospitality, with regular interaction with clientele and community events.

The position requires open availability for 20–29 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Training will cover POS systems and product knowledge, with incentives and employee discounts.

• Technological aptitude to navigate POS/computer/iPad/handheld systems.
• Open availability of 20 – 29 hours per week.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around, standing for long periods, and able to lift at least 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences and build enduring relationships.
• Support service enhancers to build strong relationships including active use of Concierge.
• Achieve sales and service metrics in key areas: Clientelling/Outreach, Appointment Setting, Talbots Classic Awards, etc.
• Plan and prioritize tasks to meet customer and business needs.
• Understand customer needs through curiosity and confidence and sell accordingly.
• Share current products and fashion trends to wardrobe customers and build trust.
• Participate in community/store activities and events that promote the Talbots Brand.
• Professionally represent the brand image.
