Job summary

Nexus Water Group is seeking a dedicated liaison to represent Texas Utilities to builders and developers, aligning with tariffs and contracts. This role coordinates with Customer Service to maintain district needs and ensure timely processing of orders.

The position is primarily based in Sugar Land, TX, with a hybrid schedule (Mon–Fri 8am-5pm); some travel within Texas is required. Strong communication and field coordination are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of three years experience in tapping, service marketing, management, or utility operations.
  • Ability to interpret technical guidelines and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of facilities, rate orders, contracts, and regulations affecting Texas Utilities districts.
  • Liaise with builders/developers, customers, and field operators in the Texas Utilities area.
  • Coordinate with local Field Staff on progress and set expectations for completion.
  • Travel up to several days per week within Texas as needed.
  • Be present in Sugar Land office at least one day per week; other days remote working.

Overview:

To represent Texas Water Utilities to various types of Builders and/or Developers and act as the liaison between the company and the Customer Service department. To ensure that the Builder and/or Developer needs at Nexus are maintained in accordance with the Tariff and/or development contract in effect.

Work Location and Schedule

Primarily based at our Sugar Land, TX office, regular business hours Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. May require overtime, nights and weekends as needed. May require up to 25% travel within the state of Texas. This is a hybrid position working remotely on Monday's and Friday's and in the Sugar Land office Tuesday-Thursday.

What You'll Do:
  • Maintain current working knowledge of facilities, rate orders, contracts, and regulations that would impact the utility districts for which they are responsible.
  • Maintains liaison relationship with: the builders and/or developers within the Texas Utilities area, the customers within the Texas Utilities area, and the operators working in the assigned utility district.
  • Confer with local Field Staff on progress of outstanding orders and communicate expectations on when they will be accomplished.
  • Travel in the Field up to days a week as needed.
  • Be present in Main Office location at least once a week to troubleshoot and help ensure work is getting completed while working the remainder of the week in a local office convenient to current location.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and up to date work in progress lists and provides timely completion of monthly reports as needed.
  • Promotes effective ways of handling the services of clients.
  • Initiates all service orders applicable for scout and/or initial meter setup.
  • Is a general liaison between the Builder and/or Developer and performs field visits on an as needed basis to aide in building and/or maintaining relationships.
  • Attends any and all functions that may be beneficial to Texas Utilities to promote Customer Service Relations in new and/or developing areas.
  • Maintains and communicates closely with main Reed office location to ensure timely processing of all payments, data setup and CCS/SD Billing.
  • Supports Customer Service as needed.

What You'll Bring:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school): Preferred but not required

Experience: Minimum of three years experience, preferably in tapping, service marketing, management, sales or utility operations.

Other Requirements: Work is complex and varied and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies and procedures; also requires the ability to gather and interpret data involving analysis of several factors. Works independently under general direction; participates in setting work objectives. Requires skills in explanation, persuasion and diplomacy to resolve problems and arrive at decisions with others. Requires ability to follow up with appropriate parties in a timely and professional manner. Work requires walking, climbing, reaching, lifting and carrying to perform inspections and carry out other job related duties at water/wastewater facilities.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a climate controlled office environment. Employee may occasionally be subject to adverse weather and environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, humidity, precipitation; physical hazards from moving machinery, equipment with moving parts, high voltage electrical equipment, hazardous chemicals, and bacteria in wastewater.
