Job summary

Delta Dental of North Carolina seeks a Client Manager to manage existing client relationships, drive retention and expansion, and collaborate with brokers, consultants, and clients on program administration and benefit strategies. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or marketing, or related field, plus three years' sales/services of group accounts.
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills; ability to analyze and resolve problems; use independent judgment.
  • Must have a state health insurance license or obtain one within three months.
  • Must maintain a well-maintained vehicle when representing DDNC externally.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation, service, and profitable retention of existing clients while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Liaise with producers, consultants, and clients to ensure program administration and service needs.
  • Collaborate on benefit strategies, financial analysis, renewals, benchmarking and service delivery.
  • Build trusted client relationships and provide market intelligence and recommendations.
  • Achieve client retention and expansion; accountable for profit and loss.
  • Analyze client financial and utilization data and benchmarks to assess strategy.
  • Promote DDNC value proposition and participate in community initiatives.
  • Support enrollment and renewal through employee presentations and health fairs.
  • Collaborate with sales on RFP opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with brokers and decision makers on assigned accounts.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for implementation, service, and profitable retention of existing clients, while enhancing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Works with internal and external staff as a liaison to producers, consultants, and clients to ensure proper program administration and ensure all service needs are met.
  • Partners with clients and producers/consultants on executing benefit strategies, financial analysis, plan renewals, benchmarking and overall service delivery.
  • Ensures client expectations are met.
  • Builds trusted relationships with clients and producers/consultants by providing market leading intelligence, strategic solutions and recommendations.
  • Responsible for the retention and expansion of existing business.
  • Holds direct accountability for profit and loss performance.
  • Analyzes client financial, utilization data, and industry trends/benchmarks to determine success of client's current and future benefit strategy.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of DDNC value proposition, benefit and service offerings.
  • Promotes Delta Dental brand in the community by participation in community affairs - specifically community projects chosen by clients in their book of business and understands opportunities to partner with clients within the community.
  • Maintains a positive corporate image within the community.
  • Conducts employee presentations, health fairs, and other activities to support client enrollment and renewal.
  • Works cohesively with sales executives on RFP opportunities.
  • Proactively develops and maintains effective business relationships with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers on all assigned accounts. This includes individual calls, benefit conferences, conventions, entertainment, and special events.
  • Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or marketing, or related field and three years' experience in sales and/or services of group accounts. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
  • Position requires strong written, oral and presentation skills with internal and external contacts; the ability to analyze and resolve problems; and use independent judgment; requires a state health insurance license or must obtain one within three months of employment.
  • Position also requires the use of a well-maintained vehicle while acting as a representative of Delta Dental of North Carolina externally.
