Job summary

HSBC is seeking an Associate in Client Intelligence in New York to lead analytics workstreams, including data extraction, model development, and customer profiling. The role blends SQL/Python analytics with AI-assisted workflows to drive growth opportunities across clients, products, and channels.

You will partner with stakeholders, ensure data quality, and document methodologies while contributing to reusable code and governance practices. Hybrid work model in a global bank environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, CS, Economics)
• Strong analytics/data science experience, preferably in financial services or commercial analytics
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with modelling techniques (predictive, ML); familiarity with big data and cloud environments (Spark/Hadoop; AWS/Azure/GCP) and visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau)
• Experience with disciplined coding practices and a systems mindset
• Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics and practical validation approaches
• Knowledge of CIB client segments and commercial drivers; experience in segmentation, wallet sizing, profiling, benchmarking, pipelines/analyzing

Responsibilities

• Analytics Delivery: Extract, clean, and join datasets using SQL and Python/R; build, test, and deploy analytical models for client profiling, segmentation, wallet sizing, and growth use cases.
• Insight Generation & Storytelling: Translate analysis into actionable recommendations and business implications for leadership.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with coverage, product, and servicing teams to refine requirements and drive adoption of outputs.
• Data & Quality Management: Work with data engineering/tech to access data and improve data quality while documenting assumptions.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain model documentation, monitoring, and reusable code.
• Collaboration & Coaching: Support junior colleagues through peer review and knowledge sharing.
