Job summary

Bay Animal Hospital, a busy AAHA-accredited small-animal practice in Manhattan Beach, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exams and outpatient visits and to enhance client experiences.

You will engage with clients, coordinate schedules, and assist veterinarians during procedures while maintaining accurate records and compassionate patient care. Strong communication and multitasking are essential. This full-time role offers a 4/10 schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant role.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling for dogs and cats.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
• Experience recording patient histories and vital signs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure patient and client care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients.
• Assist veterinarians during outpatient procedures while providing high-quality care.
