Job summary

Brighton Jones seeks a Trust Officer to serve as the primary liaison between clients, Brighton Jones advisory teams and the South Dakota trust administration team.

You’ll coordinate onboarding, beneficiary communications, and distributions while ensuring alignment with governing documents and wealth-planning goals. This in-office role emphasizes relationship management and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, private client services, family office services, trust and estate planning, or related field.
• Strong understanding of trusts, fiduciary administration, and trust planning concepts.
• Exceptional client service, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships and competing priorities effectively.
• This role is an in-office, full-time, and exempt position with a work-from-office culture and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary relationship contact for trust beneficiaries, family members, advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and other professional advisors.
• Review trust documents and account information to understand trust provisions, fiduciary responsibilities, beneficiaries, and trust assets.
• Assist with onboarding new trust relationships, including collecting, reviewing, and organizing account documentation for a smooth client experience.
• Coordinate trust administration activities, including beneficiary communications and distribution requests.
• Partner with Brighton Jones advisors and internal teams to deliver integrated trust, estate planning, tax, philanthropic, and family office services.
• Support administration of trusts in accordance with governing documents, fiduciary standards, and applicable laws while elevating issues needing review or guidance.
• Support the Director of Estate Planning on Family Office trust and estate planning projects as needed
