Job summary

Brighton Jones is seeking a Trust & Estate Paralegal to support the Director of Estate Planning and the Family Office team in coordinating estate planning, trust administration, and related legal services for high-net-worth clients.

This role involves working closely with clients, advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals to facilitate planning projects, review documents, and ensure a seamless client experience. Strong organizational skills and a background in trusts are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in trust and estate administration or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of trust and estate planning concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with client service focus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate estate planning, trust administration, and related projects with directors and advisors.
  • Review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and beneficiary designations; summarize key provisions.
  • Gather client information and maintain estate planning documentation and workflows.
  • Monitor recommendations and execution tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify gaps or issues and escalate to advisors or attorneys as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between clients, Brighton Jones teams, and South Dakota trust colleagues.
  • Support onboarding, distributions, and beneficiary communications with the SD team.

Brighton Jones Family Office is seeking a Trust & Estate Paralegal to support the Director of Estate Planning and Family Office Team in coordinating estate planning, trust administration, and related legal services for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

This role serves as a key member of the Family Office team, helping clients navigate complex estate planning matters while ensuring an exceptional client experience. The Trust & Estate Paralegal will work closely with clients, advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals to facilitate estate planning projects, review and summarize estate planning documents, coordinate implementation of planning recommendations, and monitor ongoing legal and trust-related matters.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in trusts and estates, private client services, or family office services. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys organizing complex information, managing multiple projects, creating an exceptional client experience, and serving as a trusted resource for both clients and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate estate planning, trust administration, and other legal-related projects for Family Office clients, working closely with the Director of Estate Planning, Brighton Jones advisors, and outside advisors.
  • Review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, beneficiary designations, and related estate planning documents and prepare summaries of key provisions, fiduciary appointments, and planning considerations.
  • Assist with gathering client information, organizing planning records, preparing meeting materials, and maintaining estate planning documentation and workflows.
  • Monitor planning recommendations, implementation tasks, trust funding matters, and other estate planning action items to help ensure timely completion.
  • Help identify potential planning gaps, inconsistencies, administrative issues, or implementation concerns and elevate matters to advisors, attorneys, or other professionals as appropriate. Support client education and communications regarding estate planning structures, trust administration matters, and related family office services.
  • Act as the primary relationship liaison between Brighton Jones Trust Company clients, Brighton Jones advisory teams, and our South Dakota trust administration team.
  • Support new trust onboarding, coordinate trust-related requests and distributions, facilitate beneficiary communications, and partner with the South Dakota team to ensure a seamless and responsive client experience.
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in trust and estate administration, estate planning, private client services, family office services, fiduciary services, or a related field.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred; bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of trust and estate planning concepts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to exceptional client service.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, families, and their professional advisors is preferred.
  • This role is an in-office, full-time, and exempt position. We are a work from office culture with a lot of flexibility.
Compensation
  • Pay: $100K - $150K+
