Job summary

Zapata is seeking a Quantum Solutions Engineer to work directly with clients to solve real-world problems with quantum computing.

This role sits at the intersection of customer engagement and applied quantum engineering—partnering with clients to understand their use cases, then designing, developing, testing, and benchmarking the quantum algorithms and workflows that turn those use cases into deliverable solutions.

Qualifications

PhD or equivalent industry experience delivering quantum solutions.
Strong understanding of quantum computing fundamentals and complexity theory.
Experience developing and testing quantum algorithms and primitives.

Responsibilities

Scope, develop, test, and deliver quantum proof-of-concept and production engagements with measurable value.
Develop quantum algorithms and end-to-end workflows for cryptography, chemistry, finance, materials science, and defense.
Estimate resources for near-term and fault-tolerant hardware; communicate trade-offs to clients.
Build and optimize circuit compilation, error mitigation, and algorithmic primitives.
Translate problems into well-posed quantum computational tasks and reproducible workflows.
Serve as primary technical contact during client engagements; communicate results to diverse audiences.
Contribute to technical reports, deliverables, and government program outputs.
Collaborate with internal engineers and scientists to improve product quality and performance.
Drive complex problems to validated, working solutions.
